1798cc petrol, manual. The vendor has been told that this white Austin J4 van may be the earliest in existence. Its bodywork, engine, brakes and suspension received a restoration around 2018, and it remains in lovely overall condition, with smart black and red interior trim.
The original buff logbook shows that the van was first registered in Salford in June 1961, and the current V5C records 3 former keepers. We sold it to the vendor in June last year. Also included is an original MoT test certificate from 1966, one of the oldest we’ve seen in a while. The 1.8-litre engine is from an MGB, and the odometer shows 19,336 miles.
The registration number is non-transferable.
